In 2012, Karen and Yadu Sankalia started the Pune Farmers’ Market (Visit Link) the first wholefoods natural market in their hometown Pune. This has become a runaway success and is now (2017) in 8 cities in India. Farmers’ Markets have been re-branded to Markets by Karen Anand to include more mindfully sourced lifestyle and natural wellness products.

Taste represents foodie heaven. Stunning food prepared by the city’s greatest restaurants, world famous chefs, superb drink and outstanding entertainment, set in bustling summer cities. Taste is a platform for food and drink companies wishing to enter a new market. Taste is held in 16 cities across the world. The franchise for Taste of Mumbai was taken by Karen Anand and her partners under the company – ASK for Food, who owned the license for Taste Festivals in India.

Diners were treated to a 4 course meal curated by Karen Anand. They were taken on a journey through India’s culinary heritage focusing on the Indian traditions of farm to table, the principles of Ayurveda and healthy eating and the use of spices in everyday cooking. Karen also spoke about defining moments of Indian Culinary Inheritance and the ‘Sixth’ primary taste of food flavours.
